● Music - Reference Recordings HRx Files
Keith Johnson and the team at Reference Recordings have released the
exciting new HRx files. These are exact bit-for-bit copies of the
original master recording. For the first time ever, music lovers can
hear what the recording and mastering engineers hear when they listen to
these high resolution files. The HRx files are recorded at 176.4kHz
24bit. These recordings were made using the finest analog-digital
converter ever made, that being the Pacific Microsonics Model Two, which
it just so happens was also designed by Keith Johnson et al. (For more

These HRx files are designed to be loaded into a music server and then played. If you would like to learn more about music servers click here.
Ideally the music server will be connected to a high end digital-analog converter. If you would like to learn more about a high end DACs please click here.
Once you hear them for yourself you will instantly understand why listening to master tapes in the old days was so incredible. Of course few people have ever had access to master tapes. But now for the first time you can experience master recordings played in your own home.
