What can I expect from a Home Theater?

A high quality home theater can create a visual and sonic experience that surpasses what you experience here in Boston-area cinemas. A properly setup multi-channel audio system will easily surpass the cinema in terms of clarity, resolution, freedom from distortion, imaging, tonal balance, and the impact of special effects. The very best home theater video products will surpass the film quality in Boston-area cinemas. (Of course, the very best cinemas, in Hollywood for example, can present a higher resolution picture than that of any video system is currently available. Boston-area cinemas have not, in our experience, achieved this.)

    Stewart Filmscreen makes high-quality projection screens in a wide variety of style, options, sizes, and screen materials. The screen that we sell for front projection systems are offered in StudioTek 130 (1.3 gain), Ultramatte 150 (1.5 gain), Videomatte 200 (1.8 gain), and Ultramatte 200 (2.0 gain). All Stewart screens are custom made; there is no additional charge for non-standard sizes. Prices are a function of area (square footage).
