It's virtually inconceivable that anyone looking at this website doesn't know Sony Corporation. What very few know is the spirit of the company from which it evolved (TKK Japan).
It’s rather lengthy, but the gist of the initial prospectus was to form a company dedicated to establishing a cooperative working environment where the greater purpose was to create products that would revitalize war-torn Japan. This is not what we have come to expect of tech companies today. There is hardly an electronics product category in which Sony has not made major contributions; radio, television, personal audio, cameras, medical devices, robotics...you name it. Much of the 4K content that you watch in Digital Cinemas or at home was recorded and mastered on Sony equipment. You can experience these productions on Sony TV's or projectors, from Sony BluRay players, through Sony Home Theater electronics and Sony loudspeakers or headphones. That's serious vertical integration.
One could go on nearly endlessly but why bother? You already know...it's Sony.
